Have you ever wondered why you seem to get the same illnesses over and over again?
Maybe you get an upset stomach weekly. Maybe your headache has a standing meeting on your calendar. Maybe that boot to immobilize your injured ankle is part of your normal wardrobe.
You’ve seen your doctor numerous times, and everything you’ve tried doesn’t seem to stop this reoccurring hardship. Now the office staff and nurses know you by name. Deep down there’s a little voice that whispers to you that you might be turning into a hypochondriac.
You’re so sick and tired of having this unresolved hardship. It feels like a burden on your relationships and social life.
And now something happened at work that makes you think that maybe… just maybe… you’re not performing as well you should be because of this stupid problem – and you’re afraid that will impact your career in a negative way.
It’s not like you haven’t tried to get help. It’s just that all the help you’ve gotten doesn’t make this struggle go away once and for all!
No wonder it's driving you crazy that no one can figure out how to make it stop.
You know it’s time to look for a different explanation. This dilemma has gone on for far too long.
But where else can you look for clues that might help you solve this puzzle?
Think about how amazing it would be if you could wake up in the morning… knowing that you’ve found what seems to be unconventional information that helps you better understand and address your problem … and feeling like you’re finally doing everything that you can to address it and get back to focusing again on your career.
HERE’S THE PROBLEM

We’re conditioned to think that issues in our lives exist in silos. If our car breaks down, it’s mechanical so we go to a mechanic to get our car fixed. If our credit is bad, it’s financial so we go to a credit specialist to get our credit fixed. If we get sick, it’s physical so we go to a doctor to get ourselves fixed.
But when the doctor’s prescription doesn’t fix us as immediately or as completely as the mechanic fixes our car, we can start to worry and begin to think that we’re crazy. And if that feeling lingers in our lives, we can start to feel worn down and stressed out.
Here's how I see it: your feelings about what’s going on in your body affect you more than you realize.
Sure, you know that there’s a mind-body connection. You’ve probably done the lemon visualization – you know the one where you close your eyes, visualize a ripe juicy lemon, and start salivating when you imagine biting into that lemon. But the mind-body connection is only one piece of overall health.
So here's one perspective that you might not have heard before…
It's understanding that there’s a mind-body-social connection that can contribute to your overall health.
Let THAT sink in for a moment.
People like us are used to solutions – after all, we’re a specialist in what we do (and we’re darn good at it too!). But when we focus on fixing each individual problem in us, we can sometimes miss the interconnectedness of our problems.
And because we’re soooo fixated on each individual problem, we miss important connections between different areas of our lives that might help us get over our problems faster and better.
If we don’t see the connections between our body and what we’re thinking and feeling (our inner lives), and between our body and what’s going on in our outer lives (like family and work), then we lose out on opportunities for resolving ways of thinking and feeling and acting that might be contributing to our reoccurring troubles.
You’ve probably had a splinter at some point in your life. And if it was in your skin a bit too long, then it likely became inflamed before you finally got it removed.
You can also get what I like to call “emotional splinters”. These are emotions that get stuck in you, and if left unresolved, can contribute to either unconscious behaviors that you exhibit and/or physical symptoms that you experience.
For example, you might notice a tight or upset stomach when you think about talking to someone. Have you ever thought about what you might be feeling that contributes to your stomach sensation? You might be afraid to talk to them. You might feel unworthy talking to them. Or maybe something they did makes you feel angry when you think about it.
And that emotion that you’re stuffing down might contribute to how you behave when you actually talk to them. You might show up to the conversation in fear or shy or a bit aggressive.
There are valid reasons for thinking and feeling what you do. But if you’re not aware of them – if that splinter is not found and removed – then it will affect you in ways that you might not want or even be aware of because of that mind-body-social connection.
So fixing individual problems in silos might not improve your overall life experience if you miss important connections to other areas of your life.
If you focus solely on fixing a physical issue, then you might miss out on stuck emotions that exacerbate it.
And if you never address your emotional splinters, then you might experience your problem again… and again… and again.
Introducing: Meta-Health
Use the Mind-Body-Social Connection to Uncover the Emotional Roots that Block Your Success

Meta-Health is a framework that helps you evaluate the interconnectedness of your life – mind, body, social – and how those connections impact the whole of you and your experience of your life.
In my specific work, I help you identify those pesky and deeply buried “emotional splinters” that might be contributing to problems in other areas of your life.
Talk to any massage therapist and they’ll tell you that sometimes clients break down in tears on the table during their relaxing massage. From a Meta-Health point of view, there was stuck emotion in that body part that was finally released during that massage.
I get that this might sound weird or even woo woo. You might be cynical about it – you might have a friend who’s gone to some healer before and seen no results.
After all, we’re used to people who are specialists, who work solely with the body – your doctors, chiropractors, hands-on healers, homeopaths. These are all great modalities and I use them for myself.
But if your emotional splinters aren’t removed, they can keep a low-level “emotional infection” going that can spill over into other areas of your life experience.
If you’re one of those people who aren’t tuned into their emotions? We can still work out what themes might be present based on what’s going on in other areas of your life.
And how does Meta-Health relate to money? I’m soooo glad you asked.
Have you ever had the experience where you had more month than money in your bank account? If you remember back to that time, you might recall you felt nervous or even fearful.
If you project back to that time, you might remember experiencing bodily sensations – a queasiness in your stomach. Or a racing heart. Or even more subtle signs – a slight tightening of the shoulders. Holding your breath ever so slightly. Clenching your jaw.
If these unconscious reactions become lodged in you – become an “emotional splinter” – then you’ll start to think and feel differently about your bank account and your money. And this could negatively impact your ability to make and keep money and even impact you in other areas of your life.
This work is complex, and if there's anything I know about you is that you love to learn and more importantly to apply what you learn. Together we'll work to identify emotional themes that might be underlying your physical issues in order to begin the process of clearing out those emotional splinters.

My results with Heather are nothing short of miraculous. About 15 years ago I developed an allergy to dogs. I had to get rid of a dog because every time I was around my dog I developed cold symptoms. This was never an issue before until my mom brought home a dog to be trained as her service dog which would be living in the house. So I needed a solution quick and an injection was not an option I wanted to pursue.
In 5 sessions working on only emotions, Heather made it possible for me to be around my dog without cold symptoms developing and without the need of any allergy medication. I am amazed at what she can do and the results I was able to get from working with her in a relatively short period of time, she is amazing!
